Can someone who knows alot of Japanese tell me what

"Kareshi ga imasu ka" means?

Does it mean "Is that him?"

Also, is "kareshi" (彼氏)a polite way of saying "him"?

Does 彼+氏 = "he"+ "mister"?

Thank you

  1. Do you have a boy friend for kareshi ga imasuka?(彼氏がいますか?)

It doesn`t mean is that him?.

  2. 1) Do you have a boyfriend?

    2) No

    3) Yes, but in a question like the above it almost always means "boyfriend", just like using 彼女, kanojo in the same sentence will almost always mean "girlfriend".

    4) Breaking compound kanji into single kanji doesn't always work, and this is one case where it sort-of fails.
