Japanese Hanabi-ko meaning in English?

i know hana is a star, whats bi and is -ko a child?

the name of a gorilla who can communicate in ASL is hanabi-ko which i read is translated as fireworks child.

    Ko = child

    Hana is flower, by the way. Hoshi is star.

    Bi is the same as hi, which means fire.

    Hanabi literally means flower fire but it's used for fireworks.
