As the other answerers have said, the way Sesshoumaru is written in kanji is 殺生丸.

However, I think they are mistaken about the "Lord" part.

It is true that the word "tono/"dono" (殿) means "Lord" but I don't think that should be used here. This is because the  "maru" part of "sesshoumaru" already means "Lord".

The word "maru" can be used as a suffix attached to names of people or certain things. It can be attached to the names of ships or weapons/instruments, but it can also be attached to the name of people too.

The suffix "maru" was sometimes attached to the names of emperors or people just below the rank of emperor in the late middle ages. I don't know how much Japanese you can read but you can find that definition of "maru" at this link

Anyway, by attaching "maru" to the name "Sesshou" the creator of this character in indication that "Sesshou" is upper nobility. The word "Lord" was probably what was chosen by the person who translated this name into English to keep the spirit of the original Japanese. Adding the word "tono/dono" would be like saying "Lord Lord Sesshoumaru". I also looked at the Wikipedia page ( http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%AE%BA%E... ) and nowhere on that page is the word 殿 used. This is because it is because 丸 is used and there is no need for 殿.

Finally, it's silly and not logical at all to try and say something like "Sesshoumaru sempai (senpai)". It makes no sense at all no matter how you look at it. Usually, the word "sempai" is used to talk about things like people at the same company or school or group or club or organization, etc., etc. who joined/enrolled/entered before you did. It would be something that a freshman in high school would call a senior, or a new company employee would call some of the people with more tenure at his office. Sempai" is a respectful term but using it to refer to someone who is supposed to be a powerful "Lord" is just silly. If you were to call him anything, you'd call him master or somethiing like that. But, once again, you don't need to add anythihng extra in Japanese because the word "maru" is used.

殺生丸 is the kanji that wikipedia gave for Sesshoumaru's name.

I also went to the official site to confirm the kanji.

Lord can be written as tono/dono... 殿

Sesshoumaru-dono is a nice way of logic

However, I think that Sesshoumaru senpai would also make some logic.

Senpai is a superior.
