  1. Rice cakes can be mochi (aka omochi) or onigiri (aka nigiri). But I think you're referring to rice crackers, which are called senbei (aka osembei).

Japanese markets carry them, as do Chinese and Korean markets. You can even find them in American supermarkets, such as Safeway, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, etc. Check the ethnic food section.

  2. senbei - rice crackers baked and seasoned with soy sauce = super delicious

if you have a japanese store in your area, head to the potato chip aisle and there should be several varieties in that section

  3. I believe they're called onigiri! xD

  4. I think so, not 100% sure what mine are called....They are like little rice cracker and have like an icing on the top...But very little.  They are round and about 2-3 inches across, very light in color almost white...the icing is white too.  Come in bigger bags with smaller wrapped packages of 2.  They are slightly sweet, but a little salty, but sometimes you almost taste spicy.  I can usually get them at one of the oriental food stores in my area.  Most larger towns have one.  Than again, there are a lot of different kinds of japanese rice crackers.  Maybe not what you are looking for, but hope this helps....

  5. I think, you may be looking for Sembei, but there are thousands of different kinds of Sembei.  Check them out in the Wikipedia here:

You can purchase them from hundreds of grocers that sell Japanese products online.  Just search for "buy Sembei", and you should be bombarded with links to places (like this:  http://www.asianfoodgrocer.com/index.asp... from Asian Food Grocer) who carry all kinds of different types.
