I had something yesterday at Izumi Sushi in the Metropolis food court. It was called beef set and included salad and rice. The main dish was served in a kind of sweet brown liquid. There were beef, carrots, mushrooms, tofu, green onions, a kind of clear noodles (vermicelli?) and even broccoli in the liquid. What's this called in English? Need an answer faast!!

  1. Sounds like sukiyaki.  The brown liquid is a soup made from kelp and dried bonita flakes.

  2. Yeah, it sounds like sukiyaki.  The clear "noodles" are actually konnyaku, also known as devil's tongue.
