Okay, in a lot of manga that I have read there is a secondary plot-line involving a love interest. And in that secondary plot, usually two related cousin's are the subject of the love interest. (Most of the magna that I have read involves a female "in love" with her male cousin, unbeknowst to him.) So, my question is this: Is it morally right to the Japanese to romantically pursue one's cousin? I'm from America and that concept just doesn't set well with my morales.

  1. In Japan, its common to marry their own cousin.

    Its a different culture.

Beside you're most likely just reading fiction.

  2. That is totally untrue, thats why its a made up story.

  3. You must be reading Shojo instead of shonen.  In america, cousins who are in love are associated with rednecks.  I am not trying to be offensive but I am just stating the stereotypes.

  4. I haven't read all manga.

But I have something to say.

    First

    Yes

Also in a lot of manga that you have never read there is a secondary plot-line involving a love interest.

    Second

There are some manga in whose secondary plot, two related cousin's are the subject of the love interest.

    But "usually"

    Third

    Yes

It's morally right to the Japanese to romantically pursue one's cousin.

    But remember.

There're not so many cases like that.

I'm sorry, butI feel you 've read a certain category of manga.

  5. Well I’m not sure how accepted it is in modern Japan but the one thing i tell you about any Japanese medium is that it's totally fake. They exaggerate personalities and emotions in the characters because they have the simple philosophy that it's not real so it doesn't matter how off the wall it is.
