Question:

Japanese host family...?

I was wondering what all I would need to know in order to go Japan and go finish my high school years in a hopefully english speaking school (I know a girl that went to one) What all would I need to know about a host family as well...pretty much...what all do I need to know, even small misc. helpful hints

  1. I agree...you should do it through an organization. If you don't, it could be dangerous. I don't know about an English speaking school in Japan, but I might be able to give you some information on a few things. Most exchange programs only let you live in a foreign country for a year, but they will put you into a foreign school and expect you to learn the language and the culture. I think if you're going to choose to live in Japan, you should definitely go to a Japanese school. You wouldn't get as much out of the culture if you don't learn the language. You might have to make up some credits to finish high school, but you could probably do that through an online school that offers dual credit or something your high school will accept. My exchange was through Rotary. I strongly recommend doing an exchange through Rotary!
