While I was in Japan I got this snack cake type thing. They were little round discs, flat on one side and dome shaped on the other. They came in a clear packaging and were 3 rows up and down, with maybe 15 or 20 per row. I cannot find them anywhere online and do not know the name of them. I would love to have them again. I think they were either a kind of cake or bread. I am not sure which. They were in the snack isle tho. These things were almost right next to them if it helps any. http://www.asianmunchies.com/cartgenie/prodInfo.asp?pid=1485&cid=2 If anybody knows what they are please let me know, and if you know where I can get them. Oh they were a tan/brown color and white on the inside. Thanks in advance

  1. They are called manju(pronounced "mon-jew").  They are made of rice flour with fillings made of bean paste, chestnuts, or green tea.  The item in the link are a type of manju, probably chestnut.  The kind that comes in a tray is considered a little bit fancier than everyday but they taste the same(and cost more).  Many Asian food stores carry them.  Now that you know the name you may be able to find them online.
