Japaness citizen with Canadian PR but reside in Japan?

I am a Japaness citizen with candian Permanet Residence but reside in Japan for a past year. I am currently visiting NY USA where my kids study and want to buy a car to bring it back to Japan. Is that possible to drive to Canada with US plate car for few weeks?

I have residence in new york but only hold visiting visa.

That's a complicated question.  I think you can, but you should contact the Canadian Border Services Agency to know for sure.  You will find a phone number for them at this link.

Yes you can drive the car into Canada. Just make sure they know you aren't planning to import it. If you are just going for a visit then you should have no problems.
