Japantown?

Question

Any good lunch places ? Nothing fancy. For my friends daughter's 13th birthday. A little place maybe even something like a cafe around the area. PLEASE HELP!

the Macaroni grill is good.

if you don't have one of those, a local bistro or cozy deli will do too. after all, its the thought that counts!

Right in Japantown, I'll bet 13 year olds would love Sophie's Crepes.  

Another fun place for kids in that area is a little farther down Geary - Mel's Diner.  1950's burger joint and soda fountain, full of balloons and with a real working jukebox.

And if you can splurge and get a little bit fancy (but not too bad), you are also not far from Citizen Cake in Hayes Valley.  The desserts there would send a 13 year old birthday girl straight to heaven!

If you're around Japantown, there is a few sushi bars and such inside the main mall. However, if you're not up for anything like that, you can go up Fillmore St (toward the Marina. and find an amazing amount restaurants in six block length.
