Jardel wants to play more games for Benfica – Portuguese Primeira Liga News
Brazilian defender Jardel has claimed that he is putting in a lot of effort in training and is hoping that manager Jorge Jesus allows him to take part in more matches for Benfica in the ongoing season.
Centre-back by nature, Jardel Nivaldo Vieira moved from Olhanense to Benfica this summer. The Brazilian was purchased by manager Jorge Jesus as cover for defensive stalwarts, Luisao and Ezequiel Garay. Competing for a place in the starting line-up alongside
the 25-year-old was Miguel Vitor, who unfortunately suffered an injury in preseason, causing him to miss the start of the season.

a clean sheet on his debut.
After breaking the ice in Benfica colours, Jardel now aims to become a regular feature at Estadio da Luz although he will counter the threat of Vitor and Garay.
Speaking to reporters, he said his efforts on the training field were paying off and had boosted his confidence, making him ready to be called upon whenever necessary.
“This game was good for me. I have worked day and night; my comrades have given me great confidence. I'm always prepared for when they need me to play. The coach placed confidence in me, bet on me, thank God could match well.”
Even though the Eagles did not have the best of beginnings to the 2011/2012 campaign, they still find themselves on top of the table partly due to the fact that current title holders and overwhelming favourites, FC Porto, are yet to play their 3rd
fixture.
Despite the envious position they are in, Jardel was keen to divert the attention back to their performances and said that they should not be worrying about their rivals right now.
