Jarmila Gajdosova returns to Moorilla Hobart International in 2012 – Tennis News
The officials of Moorilla Hobart International tournament have been able to take onboard their defending champion, Australian number two, Jarmila Gajdosova that has confirmed her participation in the next year’s tournament.
Australian was extremely efficient this year as she managed to secure her second title of the career and managed to climb up several ranks, ending up the season as world number thirty-three. Her last year performance brought her
a lot of support from the local crowd and she will be the tournament favourite in 2012.
Earlier this year Gajdosova managed to secure her triumph in the tournament by defeating her American rival, Bethanie Mattek-Sands in the final. She was excited at her participation as the defending champion in 2012 Moorilla Hobart
International tournament and proclaimed, “I'm really excited about coming back to Hobart, and after my success this year I hope to perform well in early January. The crowds are so supportive in Hobart. I really enjoy playing out there on the centre court."
She started her 2011 campaign with in a magnificent manner by overpowering the sixth ranked Samantha Stosur in the second round of Brisbane. It was a dream start for anyone who has just won a single title in her entire career.
Her 0-17 record against top 20 women of the world finally broke in Madrid when she flabbergasted everyone with her sublime performance against the Pole superstar, Agnieszka Radwanska, in the second round of the tournament. She
defeated the match favourite Slovak star, Dominika Cibulkova in the first round at Dubai.
Her outstanding performances in 2011 continued as she locked horns with a superior ranked, Anabel Medina Garrigues and stunned her by winning in straight sets in Beijing. She tried her best to make a name by registering a majestic
performance against the world number one, Caroline Wozniacki, but failed to list even a single victory in three encounters at separate occasions. Another major triumph came against Garrigues once again when she defeated her in the second round of the Roland
Garros French Open.
Series of stunning performances from the Australian tennis ace didn’t stop as she managed to oust her opponent, Francesco Schiavone in the Fed Cup tie. There is no doubt that the 24-year-old is capable of putting anyone aside at
any stage and it’s just a matter of time when she will be listed amongst the top 20 women in the world.
