He is a free agent i believe and wants to play elsewhere for more money. I wonder if Mario will try and get him back? They could use a skilled forward. Fedorov is also a unristricted free agent but Im sure the caps may sign him.

  1. Jagr is no where near as good as he used to be.  Rangers can keep him.

  2. Jagr will be too much money for pit i don't think the fans would welcome him back in open arms plus he is pretty old which pit wants some one who can be a franchise player to play with crosby

  3. Jagr lost all respect when he became a Ranger.

    The Penn's have Crosby,Hossa, Staal, Malkin..ect...ect...ect...

What do they want with Jagr? Besides the chance to hang his jersey in the stands, which is kinda where it belongs.

  4. I don't think he's coming back to Pittsburgh.

I believe the OMSK of the Russian Super league has offered him $8 million to play there and i doubt Sather will be trying to match that offer.  Furthermore, the Pens have enough contract situations to take care of and i don't see how they are going to find room to sign Jagr.

As for Fedorov, he wants to stay in Washington and the feeling is mutual with the Capitals.

  5. I would love to see Jagr back in a Pens uniform, who wouldn't!?

  6. Jagr?  Federov?  If it was 1994 maybe these would be solid options for the Pens.  At this point i'd like to see Jagr dumped by the Rangers.  He's a great, GREAT player and probably still has a few good seasons left, but i'd rather see my blueshirts focus on younger talent and build more of a solid future.  They've got the most promising goaltender in the NHL right now; let's build a team around him instead of buying one a-la late 90s Rangers

  7. you want to pay him 8.5 mil a year? be my guest. Rangers are talking to him but it wont be easy. Jagr isnt the same players he was back 10 years ago with Mario. Jag can still make impact but he isnt going to be gamebreaker for any team. He has been accused by Rangers fans for not putting his heart to the game 100% and also have question his on and off ice leadership skill. Think this is how you want a veterans to help carry a young team like Penguins?

  8. Who the h**l said this????? He will resign with New York or play overseas.

  9. Do you know anything about Jagr and Pittsburgh? Jagr wanted out because he didn't want to be in Mario's shadow. Imagine how much worse things would be if he was stuck in Crosby's shadow, and probably still be in Mario's shadow. There is NO WAY that is going to happen. I think Jagr stays in New York or goes somewhere that he can be a little more in the shadow.

  10. HAHA. Maybe a reunion of Hossa and Jagr, that would be great. Well for my Penguins' sake... I wouldn't mind having Jagr.

  11. I believe Jags stated that if he doesnt sign with a NHL team, he probably will sign with a team over seas. It's not a fact that he is unhappy in New York, but probably more that there is not much more in the tank. He did have a good playoff run. It would be nice to see him retire in a Pittsburgh uniform but Pittsburgh has to worry bout signing it's younger talent like Malkin, Staal, Fleury, Malone, and maybe Hossa.

  12. can you put the article were you found this. i haven't heard this yet. if you could post it i would appreciate it thanks

  13. there is no chance jagr will get a contract from pittsburgh for more money than he was making last year.  the pens have a lot of their own problems with something like 14 FA coming up this off season, most of whom had great years and would like a raise so i wouldnt expect jagr to come back unless its for a discount.

  14. i don't know the pens money situation, but if they can afford jagr they def. should go after him if they want to be back where they are next year...

  15. i dont think the Pens have enoughmoney to sign him, specially having malkin, crosby, and fleury on the roster. and Fedorov, I think he resigns with the Caps. plays well with the young Russians on that team.

  16. Jagr didn't exactly leave Pittsburgh on good terms.  I doubt if the organization wants that aging prima donna back.

Moreover, the team they currently have has proven it can get to the Stanley Cup finals.  They don't need Jagr to get back to the finals.

The team's focus is going to be on resigning players like Hossa and Orpik (or finding suitable replacements).  The team has its core of young stars: now it needs to keep that core long-term and build on its toughness and speed on the depth chart.

  17. The Rangers can keep his greedy, money grubbing butt....

Most would say that the Pens are doing just fine without him, so why pay out the butt for him and loose some of our much younger budding players because we can't pay them because we have to pay Jagr....

I have been a loyal Pens fan through thick and thin, and although I enjoyed having Jagr in the Burgh, I really don't think he's worth what we would loose...besides, its obvious that he isn't exactly that loyal to the teams he plays for, if he had wanted to stay here he could have voluntarily lowered his money contract terms.....

  18. I don't think they should, because they're already in a pickle with they're money sit.  They might not resign Hossa because of the same situation, so why would they sign a 30 some year-old to a 5-year 7.6 million contract.
