Jaromir Janacek ousts Antoine Lodiot in Men’s Singles qualifying round at Polish Open 2012
Jaromir Janacek, a budding shuttler from Czech Republic, had to struggle in the Men’s Singles qualifying round contest when he overpowered Antoine Lodiot of France at the 2012 Polish Open in Poland, on Thursday, August 30.
The spirited Jaromir, who was positioned at number four in Men’s Singles draw in qualifying round, played to his maximum potential and eventually managed to win the match in hard-fought three games.
The higher ranked Jaromir was not at his best in opening set and lost it easily. Nevertheless, he found a wonderful flow in the following games and won the match by ending it up in rubber games in 35 minutes.
The un-seeded Antoine, in the meanwhile, played effectively and also grabbed the opening game but could not live up to expectations in the following sets and bowed down to Jaromir in three games with a respectable margin.
The opening game was shocking for the fourth seeded Jaromir who was not ready to receive a severe treatment from his lower ranked opponent who was flawless in his strategy and execution of shots.
Until the mid-game interval, it was the un-seeded Antoine who got a strong position on score board.
After the break, Jaromir put in his best effort but he badly failed to control the pace of rallies and eventually lost the set with a 14-21 score on the board.
The following game was different from the opening set as Jaromir also showed a tremendous performance by gearing up his speed and managed to remain ahead of his rival in the opening set.
After the break, both shuttlers continued putting up superb show of top quality badminton and reached at the ending points when Jaromir played smart game and took the set with a close score of 21-19.
The deciding game was not problematic for Jaromir who remained dominant in the opening half and took a reasonable lead.
After the interval, Jaromir played positive and effective game and remained successful in winding up the deciding set with a crushing margin of 21-13.
Jaromir emerged as victorious in this thrilling rubber set contest in 35 minutes with a nail-biting 14-21, 21-19 and 21-13 score on the board.
