Jarrod Lyle faces reoccurrence of leukemia, also expects his first baby - Golf News

The Australian professional golfer, Jarrod Lyle, who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia at the age of 17, was found suffering the reoccurrence of the disease, while his wife is expecting the birth of their first child.
Earlier, when he was diagnosed with the disease, he recovered after a complete chemotherapy and started playing professional golf.
According to Lyle, he never expected the leukemia to reoccur, as he was expecting it to be infertile because of the early treatment.
However, he was diagnosed with the problem recently and plans to start chemotherapy just after the birth of his child.
Robert Allenby, who supports cancer programmes, had a conversation with Lyle on Thursday morning about the reoccurrence of the disease.
Lyle said that that he wants to be at the side of his wife while she gives birth to his son.
Therefore, he cannot start chemotherapy right now, as it will prevent him from enjoying one of the best moments of his life.
"If he starts chemo now, he won't be able to touch the baby or watch the birth," said Allenby, who had been exchanging text messages with Lyle throughout the day.
"They are inducing her today, and she has the baby, he goes straight into treatments. It is just devastating," he continued.
"He just got his whole life where he wants," Allenby said. "He is married, he has a new baby coming, and he is playing great golf. And now this. It's the same cancer that's come back, the same leukemia".
Allenby went on to say that he met Lyle last week in South Florida, where he asked him about his health as Lyle’s left arm looked tight and sore in the vein.
Lyle replied by saying that he thought he was bitten by something in Mexico when he was participating in the Mayakoba Golf Classic in February, 2012.
Therefore, Allenby suggested him to go back home and consult the doctor if there was any viral attack on his arm.
“He was going to go home because his wife was due in two weeks. It's just terrible," Allenby said.
Allenby told that he talked to Lyle just after he came to know about the reoccurrence of the leukemia from the CEO of the "Challenge Cancer" support network, Dave Roger.
