Jarrod Saltalamacchia homers twice as Boston Red Sox humble Chicago White Sox 10-3 – MLB Update

Boston Red Sox humbled Chicago White Sox 10-3 at the U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago, Illinois on Thursday, April 26 in their regular season encounter of the 2012 Major League Baseball regular season.
Adrian Gonzalez looked very comfortable on the plate on Thursday’s evening as he doubled to the left to help his team take an early lead. David Ortiz made a useful contribution in the same inning to double Boston’s advantage to 2-0.
However, the star of the show was Jarrod Saltalamacchia who homered twice to let the Red Sox establish complete control over the contest. Kevin Youkilis also joined the party with a 385 feet home run to the right. Youkilis is one of the key players for Boston
and the fans will be expecting him to give similar performances throughout the series.
"I'm having better at-bats and doing little things here and there," Youkilis said. "I look at it as a long season, and you're going to go through stuff. Hopefully the bad at-bats are a thing of the past."
"The offense is playing extremely well," manager Bobby Valentine said. "A combined effort, no one trying to do too much. That's good offense. That's playing baseball the right way."
The win will be of great importance for the Red Sox who have struggled to find their form since the start of 2012 season. Red Sox are now 8-10 in their eighteen regular season games. Considering the quality and depth in their offence and pitching attack,
Red Sox’s fans were expecting their team to put up a much better show but that has not turned out to be the case.
The biggest problem for Boston this season has been their inability to win games at their home. With just three wins in their eight home games, Bobby Valentine and company will have to come up with a decent game plan to take advantage of their home conditions.
Winning start to the series can play a key role in deciding outcome for the Red Sox. Of course, the pressure will be on Chicago White Sox now and it will be interesting to see if they can bounce back in second game.
