Jasmine Tosky clinches Women’s 200 yards butterfly gold – AT&T Winter National Championships
Jasmine Tosky of USC-CA clinched gold medal of the Women’s 200 yards butterfly on day three of the 2012 AT&T Winter National Championships in Austin, TX, USA on Saturday, December 1.
Tosky spoiled the party of her opponents in the eight-lap discipline as she went on a rampage and snared the title of the event.
She had a comparatively quicker start and with her alluring efforts, Tosky showed no mercy to her opponents and proved her mettle for the title.
With her unrelenting efforts, Tosky remained one and a half body length ahead of her following swimmer and tapped the wall with a timing of 1 minute and 54.38 seconds.
The fastest swimmer remained 1.56 seconds ahead of Kim Vandenberg of NYACMR, who stepped on the victory stand for silver medal by touching the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 55.94 seconds.
Vandenberg was chased by Noelle Tarazona of UCLACA, who was only 0.01 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and surfaced on the finishing end for bronze medal by clocking a time of 1 minute and 55.95 seconds.
Fourth spot of the race was obtained by Brenna Maclean of IU-IN, who remained 0.93 seconds apart and settled on the wall by clocking a time of 1 minute and 56.88 seconds.
Maclean was chased by Kendyl Stewart of USC-CA, who was 0.59 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 57.47 seconds.
Sixth spot of the event was obtained by Amanda Nugent of WVU-WV, who was nearly 0.60 seconds behind and clocked a time of 1 minute and 58.10 seconds.
Nugent was traced by Ashley Evans of ZONAAZ, who was only 0.01 seconds behind and posted an effort of 1 minute and 58.11 seconds for seventh position.
Evans remained 0.41 seconds faster from Anna Senko of UCLACA, who was unable to overpower any of her competitors and finished eighth with an effort of 1 minute and 58.52 seconds.
In addition, Tosky was overjoyed with her gruelling efforts in the playoff of butterfly discipline and received medal after the race.
