  1. I would personally take Bay over Manny. There are no problems with Bay's behavior and he will put up vitually the same numbers as Manny considering the Manny is hitting the end of his career and his numbers will be declining.

  2. Yup, Bay could hit, play defense, willing to play for the Sox. He would be a great player

  3. Manny left cause he knows the red sox suck and actually wanted to win this year.

  4. Jason Bay is as good as Manny so far, but without all the pathetic drama. He's also saving us a ton of money so we can go out and work on our bullpen and grab a better shortstop this winter.

But we have to respect Manny for the 8 years he played here and the 2 rings he was a big part of winning.  Too bad he left on such a sour note.

Edit: I 100% agree with Anthony.

  5. born in brockton, props.  go sox 2008.

a younger player who hussles is always welcome to a pennant chaser.

good question.  i no longer answer about the former player who left.

  6. Just another Canadian adding to Red Sox lore:  Reggie Cleveland, Rheal Cormier, Fergie Jenkins and Matt Stairs live.

  7. I am a HUGE bosox fan aswell and I agree Jason Bay is so much better than manny

  8. Since Bay played in Pittsburgh and didn't get a lot of media coverage, a lot of baseball fans don't realise how good he is. The more Boston fans see of Bay, the more they will appreciate how he plays the game. He is a great clubhouse presence and a guy who gets involved in the community. Just a good guy on and off the field.

  9. Manny is by far a better player than Bay, but overall it helps that the Red Sox will have Bay for next year. I Loved the trade since I'm a Dodger fan,  but it worked out well for all teams involved. You just better hope the Yankees don't sign Manny next year.

  10. jason bay seems better and might be it depends on your opinion, bay is younger and more defensive than manny, i personally would chose manny if he was in the american league again, but he would just hit, bay is better and probably will be alot better than manny was when he was in boston

  11. He's a better player to look up to. He's a better personality and he wants to help his team win. He has a great future.

Manny Ramirez has been a great player for the Red Sox, but he acts like his life is a comedy.

  12. manny gave the Sox+ .300 + 35 HR + 120 RBI for 8 years i doubt bay could do that

  13. If you are such the 'HUGE SOX FAN", That you say you are.......How can you diss Manny like this?  Over the span of the Soxs last 2 World Series Wins, did you not "enjoy him " then?  It was definately time for Manny and the Soxs to part ways, for both of theirs future.  Manny will just be Manny on the other coast, and I hope the West Coast enjoys and respects his "personality, looks and his talent" as we have.  No hard feelings......and HELLO     JASON BAY

  14. All of you Red Sox fans are forgetting one thing: the postseason. Bay has never even been there and I guarantee you that you will be missing Ramirez's 24 homeruns in the postseason and his kind of production which carried you to your playoff victories.

Oh, and by the way, enough with overanalyzing Jason Bay. He is facing the A's for crying out loud, so let's give him some more experience before calling him the next big thing.
