Jason Day insists putting up a smile can actually land the elusive Masters title
Aussie Jason Day came out to be a force to reckon with in the last episode of the Masters at Augusta National and at one moment, was poised to clinch the coveted title.
He finished as the runner-up alongside his Australian compatriot Adam Scott, finishing behind the surprise winner South African Charl Schwartzel.
Day insists that no matter how tough the playing conditions might be, it is important to keep a smile on one's face.
Although, it still remains a question of how one can manage a smile even in the presence of such blistering trailblazers like Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods, Day seems adamant that smile works wonders with the quality of your game.
He said, "You always have to have a smile on your face, you can't be angry being out here - it's a hard place to be angry at!"
"I always watched this tournament as a kid and I never want to leave a place like this being angry. It's a privilege to be here and to play and I'm very blessed to be where I am".
Day is gearing up for yet another blistering charge at the Augusta National this year and is hoping to make the best out of the coveted event.
He admits that the playing conditions as well as the field at the event, is one of the toughest to contend with.
He added, "Competition is very stiff this year, especially with Tiger coming back and playing the way he is, it just seems like it's getting tougher and tougher to win out here".
Day has won just one event on the PGA Tour so far, despite having two strong finishes in major events, The Masters and the US Open last year.
He fell for a disappointing opening round at Augusta National last year but shot back in contention in the proceedings rounds.
The young Aussie hopes to keep up with his impressive performances in the major events last year and will go all the way to bag a major title this year-starting from Masters.
The 24-year-old won his last event, the 2010 Byron Nelson Championship.
