Jason Day wants a strong finish for the US PGA Championship
The stage is set for the biggest players in the world of golf to gather for the prestigious PGA Championship. The stage for this auspicious event is the Kiawah Island Golf Resort, the Ocean Course. The four day event is going to start from the 9th
of August and is going to end on the 12th of August.
This is the last major of the year. The event is going to be featuring the elite golfers of the world. The players are going to give their level best to impress the spectators and to win the trophy but in the end there is going to only one champion.
One of the players who will be looking to bag the trophy this year is the Australian professional golfer, Jason Day.
Last year, when Jason Day went for the PGA Championship, he was ranked number seventh in the Official World Golf Ranking. Then, he was in good form and one of the top contenders of the tournament.
12 months later, the scenario has pretty much changed. There are new challenges that Day will have to face. Currently, he is not in his best form. He has fallen down to number 23 in the world golf ranking.
Day has recently become a parent, this has also deviated his concentration from golf. In these circumstances, the 24-year-old will be looking to bounce back in the PGA Championship and is hoping to climb the ranking again.
In an interview Day said, “It will take a while to get used to everything that comes with a new baby, the sleep patterns and things like that but just like with anything in life with practise, you get better at things”.
“Poor Ellie is running on fumes and when I'm getting up with them it is hard to go out the next day and practise or even play golf,” he added
This might be a low point for Jason Day but he would be looking for a comeback, this Thursday. “My golf got better as the week went on last week so it's all heading in the right direction for this week”.
