Game-2: Dallas Mavericks 101 – Portland Trail Blazers 89
Dallas Mavericks set the court on fire, as they rushed back in the second half of the game to hand the Portland Trail Blazers their second loss of the series. Dallas defeated the Blazers 101-89 on April 19, at the American Airlines
Centre, Dallas.
Jason Kidd once again proved that he don’t mind sticking his nose in others business and gave the Mavs boost they required to clinch their second victory in a row.
Kidd once again put a staggering performance, as he tallied 18 points, clutched four rebounds, blocked one shot and provided game-high eight assists. Kidd logged in for 33 minutes during which he went 7 of 11 from the field, 1
of 1 from the paint and trey three out of his six attempts from the three-point range.
As the Trail Blazers failed to came up with a new strategy against the veteran guard, previous game hero took full advantage of the fact and ablaze the court with his second half performance. Dallas were just one point ahead of
the Blazers when the third quarter started, as Kidd appeared on the scene and punched first nine points of the Mavs that pushed the lead to four points, his run also includes a whooshing three-pointer.
Game-5: Dallas Mavericks 93 – Portland Trail Blazers 82
After dropping two straight games and allowing the Portland Trail Blazers to tie the series 2-2 the Dallas Mavericks bounced back in the contest by clinching a 93-82 win from the Blazers in the best of the seven game series. The
Mavs went 3-2 up in the series, when they secured this game.
Jason Kidd swatted game-high 14 assists together with four points, seven rebounds for the Mavs. Jason poured 17 second chance points, as the he was facilitated with 20 offensive rebounds that changed the face of the game.
Portland head coach Nate McMillan said, "We've got to rebound the ball. They had 17 second-chance points. We were giving them second and third opportunities. You can't do that."
Game-6: Dallas Mavericks 103 – Portland Trail Blazers 96
After having a jolt in the first quarter, the Dallas Mavericks got themselves together and kept the Portland Trail Blazers under check from there on ward and registered a 103-96 victory in the end at the Rose Garden Arena on April
28. The Mavs won the series 4-2 and threw the Blazers out of the contest.
Guard Jason Terry said, "We're such a confident team. We have so many veteran guys, starting at the top with Jason Kidd on down to Dirk that we believe. Especially in close ballgames, we've been winning them all season long. So
we're confident."
Kidd scored seven points, grabbed two boards, provided six assists and made two steals, during his 36 minute stay on court.
