Jason Kokrak finishes tied for the 8th spot at Pebble Beach
Jason Kokrak gave his best at Pebble Beach Golf Links, finishing tied for the eighth position after the completion of the second round.
The 26-year-old American professional golfer turned professional in 2008 and has been looking forward to winning his first tournament at the Professional Golf Association Tour.
He struck five amazing birdies and three bogeys as well, in the first round. He finished the round on Thursday by scoring a 2-under par and 68 at Monterey Peninsula Country Club at Pebble Beach.
The 70-par course is comparatively easier than the other two courses and Kokrak made the most of this fact. He impressed the spectators by covering the driving distance of 324.5 yards.
Similarly, he teed off the second round on Friday and again showed a tremendous performance. He struck six birdies with only one bogey.
His scoring on the leaderboard at the end of the day was a 5-under par and 67 strokes in total.
This time, he displayed an amazing performance at the Pebble Beach Golf Links. That is slightly tougher than the previous one.
This is the debut year of the North Carolina native. He previously played at the Nationwide Tour and eGolf Professional Tour.
He is happy about his performance and is also expecting more in the next two rounds. "I hit it well today. No individual shots that were great today," Kokrak said.
He added, "I made one putt from 35 feet that got my confidence up with the putter so hopefully we can get the flat stick working and we will have some very low scores. I'm still hitting it well but the putter is the great equalizer".
“I feel good about where my game is, and the putter is coming around this week. I just have to continue to work hard and things will change for the better,” he continued.
Kokrak concluded, "My game off the tee was good today, nothing special, but good in the latter part of my round".
He started the tournament by making an average score. He tremendously started to score under par and finished the round on 41th.
On Friday, he managed to score several more birdies and secured the eighth position.
He is planning to deliver more in future. But the next round will be played at the Spyglass Hill Golf Club, which is the toughest of all at Pebble Beach.
He needs to be more passionate to score well, as any lost stroke could prove harmful for him at this stage.
