Jason Miller vs. C.B. Dollaway finalised for UFC 146 – UFC news
Jason Miller, former Strikeforce middleweight contender, is set to face C.B. Dollaway at UFC 146 on May 26 in Las Vegas.
Confirmation of the news came in on Saturday night by President of UFC Dana White.
On Saturday night, Dana White said, “(The) Ultimate Fighter runner-up C.B. 'The Doberman' Dollaway has verbally agreed to face recent Ultimate Fighter coach Jason 'Mayhem' Miller in a middleweight bout.”
Miller has had a bumpy career yet he is easily rated among the best UFC fighters today. His career started in 2005 against Georges St. Pierre. Both went head to head with each other in a welterweight fight.
Unfortunately, Miller could not win his debut fight. He lost to Georges by a unanimous decision. His faced career crisis for the next 6 years since he was out of promotion following his poor performance while his first opponent St. Pierre became the UFC
welterweight champion.
Jason Miller then made his return on December 3, 2011, against TUF 14 coach Michael Bisping. The bout was a middleweight one, which saw Miller being knocked out by Bisping in the third round. Bisping took full advantage of Miller’s inconsistency and TKO
him.
On the other hand, even Dollaway has had similar instances throughout his career. Therefore, this bout is not just special for Miller but it is also an important for Dollaway. Both men have to prove their mettle in order to stay in the UFC. Dollaway holds
11 wins and 4 losses in his MMA portfolio, however he will be coming from a 2 fight loss to fight Miller.
Speculations are that whoever loses will be leave UFC for good. Hence, both men will be giving in their best to make their way through this tough career patches.
The UFC 146 will also have other bouts including but limited to a heavyweight bout between Overeem and Junior Dos Santos and a lightweight match between Evan Dunham and Edson Barboza. Other bouts for the event will be announced soon in the coming weeks.
As of now, Miller vs. Dollaway is finalised and will not be changed at any cost since the announcement was made by none other than Dana White himself.
