The right-handed batsman made his debut for Surrey in 2008 as a 17-year-old, and kept on impressing for the Second XI side. His talent was keenly appreciated by everyone and he made his major breakthrough in the first team in 2010.

After securing Roy for the next two seasons, Surrey management appreciated the role put in by the youngster in helping the club achieve success.
"I am really pleased for him. He has worked very hard and has learnt quickly in terms of developing his own game and understanding certain situations," said an official of the club management.
"Jason had a very good season in one-day cricket for the club and played some key innings for the team in the CB40 and the FLt20 and proved what a dynamic and powerful player he really is," he further stated.
With Surrey being promoted to the Division One of the LV Championship, and winning the CB 40, retaining  the services of the 21-year-old predicts interesting times ahead for the London based County, which will be looking to improve on their outings, come
the start of the domestic season.
