Jason Smith placed on St. Louis Rams’ injured reserve list – NFL News
Miseries have surrounded St. Louis Rams from all sides. First, it was their pathetic performance in the current season which was equally tormenting the players, the management and the fans. Now it is the consistent increase in
number of players on injury list.
The replacements that took the place of regular players are also injured and adding to the woes of the Rams.
The recent development has put right tackle Jason Smith on injured reserve list. He is suffering from concussion and neck injury.
He’s been sitting on the sidelines for more than a month now, and no one is sure when he will be able to take the field. Rams’ coach Steve Spagnuolo was concerned about the players’ injury and said that he’ll come on the field
when he is hundred per cent fit.
"He hasn't done anything for a month. The concern got to be if we waited another week or two weeks, and try to get him ready to go, are we doing the right thing for the player in that you don't do anything for five weeks and then
you rush him out there?” the coach said about Smith.
"We're trying to be smart about it. He'll fight through this thing like he did a couple of years ago and we'll get him back and he'll be ready to roll," he added.
Rams are having a dreadful season. They started off badly and lost six straight games. Their current statistics of two wins and eight defeats have forced them at the bottom of the National Football Conference West division.
There are many other players who are placed on injured reserves and it is becoming difficult for the management to select the final line-up.
There other injured players include Mark Clayton (knee), Justin Bannan (shoulder), Josh Hull (hamstring) and Mark LeVoir (pectoral). All of them did not participate in the practice session and are out of the next game.
Besides, Danario Alexander (hamstring), James Laurinaitis (foot), Chris Long (ankle) and Carnell Williams (calf) were limited in practice and are questionable for the weekend’s game.
This is not it. The list also has names of Lance Kendricks (head), Justin King (knee) and Austin Pettis (knee), who are listed as probable for the next game.
St. Louis Rams are going to take on Arizona Cardinals in the week 12 encounter of the National Football League current season on Sunday.
