The ‘Jet’ is not hiding where his loyalties are and firmly believes the Celtics can win the NBA Championship next season.
Jason Terry is yet to make his official debut for the Boston Celtics, but that has not stopped the former Sixth Man of the Year from glorifying his latest organization. From declaring his dedication to the Celtics to contemplating
about his targets in the coming season, Terry has been winning the respect of all the Greens fans with his comments recently. And as the Celtics geared up for pre-season by flying over to Turkey, Terry talked championship;
“I believe,” Terry, “this team is going to win a championship.”
Terry is known for backing up his words - LeBron James would tell you firsthand as to how it felt losing to the athleticism of Jet in the NBA Finals two seasons ago. Since then a lot has changed, from James winning his first title
to Terry coming over to Boston, but the veteran still believes that he can do it again, this time with the C’s.
Since joining the Celtics, Terry has got himself a tattoo of Boston’s official mascot, Leprechaun spinning the NBA championship on his left bicep. He did the exact same thing before the 2010-11 season (getting the Larry O’ Brien
trophy tattooed on his right bicep) and we all know how that turned out for the Mavericks.
The Celtics will certainly like the attitude of their newest player. They are the only franchise with a good chance of ending Miami’s dominance in the Eastern Conference. Their coach has been urging his players to develop a strong
hate for Miami, and Terry has by far been the most responsive.
Miami has had the better of Boston ever since the Big Three of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh formulated at the South Beach. Last season, the C’s came close to pulling off a heist, stretching Heat to the hilt, but when
James erupted, they simply faded away.
Boston has added quite a few pieces to the roster this off season, and are doing their best to get inside the skins of other contenders.
