Java is it hard to learn?

because i am learning php

and i notice that java have like a zillion subset jsp, j2mee etc...

All I can say is learning computer language is just like learning another speaking language.  You just have to give it a shot.  That's hard to say cause to some people it might be hard, but other people it might be easy.
