Java vs. Visual Basic?

If I know Visual Basic 6.0, would it be easier for me to learn JAVA?

  1. Easier, yes. Easy, no.

    The only reason it would be easier is because you would have a better understanding of programming fundamentals. If you knew some sort of C family programming, you could pick up Java very easily, as it is essentially a branch off of the C family.
