Java’s War lands his maiden at Ellis Park on 8thJuly, 2012
War Pass was not only an incredible runner himself, but he passed on his incredible talent and superior racing skills to his offspring, Java’s War.
Foaled by mare Java, Java’s War landed the first victory of his career at Ellis Park in a maiden special weight race, which took place on 8th July, 2012.
Mounted by rider, Corey Lanerie, the juvenile claimed the victory over the 1 mile track and, complete the race in 1 minute and 36.85 seconds, where he defeated, Jazil Bell , by 1 ¾ lengths.
This was a grand victory for the young runner, who finished fifth in his first attempt at his maiden race at Churchill Downs on 15th June, 2012, where he took on a distance of five furlongs under jockey, Corey Lanerie.
The young runner, who is under the wing of trainer Ken McPeek, seems to have a bright future but, his sire met an ill-fate after two years of doing stud duty.
War Pass, trained by Nicholas P. Zito, notched five out of seven victories in his career and, has earnings worth of $1,583,400 to his name.
The son of Cherokee Run, foaled by Mr. Prospector mare Vue, landed his first graded victory in the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park on 6th
October, 2007.
Over at a mile, War Press covered the entire distance in 1 minute and 36.12 seconds by defeating the Steven Asmussen trained, Pyro.
The runner further went to win the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile on 27th
October, 2007, where he aced the 1 1/16 mile course in 1 minute and 42.76 seconds, defeating Pulpit for the second time.
The runner faced a setback in the Grade 1 Wood Memorial at Aqueduct, where he finished as a runner-up to winner, Tale Of Ekati, over 1 1/8 miles which turned out to be the last race of his career.
War Pass was retired to Widden Stud in Australia for his stud duty but, he passed away several hours after he safely came home to Kentucky from Australia. The exact cause of his death could not be determined even after a necropsy.
