Javed Miandad, the former Pakistan captain, once again declined the full-time batting coach role with the Pakistan cricket team but is willing to work as the team’s batting consultant. Miandad, who is the Director General of the national
governing body http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board, opined that he was always there to help.
"I have never refused in the past to do anything that can prove beneficial to Pakistan’s team. The same is the situation now if the board wants me to work as batting consultant I am available for this assignment", said Miandad.
The legendary batter of Pakistan has coached the Pakistan team thrice in the past. His last spell with the national team as a coach was from 2003 to 2004. Since then, the Pakistan Cricket Board has made numerous attempts to draft the 53-year-old
Karachi born legend, as the batting coach but every time he declined the offer citing his busy schedule and lack of free time.
"At the moment due to my other commitments I am not in a position to work in any fulltime capacity with the team but I am there to help the players as batting consultant", Miandad said.
Miandad, who has recently returned from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/China-c40996 after attending the 2010 Asian Games cricket event as the cricket ambassador of the Government of Pakistan, further added that his past stints with the national team were also short and he had
given his best to the players in the national camps.
"This time also I will do my best to help them out and fine-tune the batsmen keeping in mind the conditions they will most likely encounter in the tour to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754", he said.
Batting has become a serious concern for Pakistan’s cricket team in recent times. Miandad feels that, with his experience, he can help the tumbling Pakistan side out of their recent batting crisis and claimed that he knows where the fine
tuning of the team is required. He also said that there is plenty of batting talent in the Pakistan team and all that the side is lacking is working in the right direction with more consistency.
Javed Miandad, who is famous for his match winning six in the 1986 Sharjah Cup final against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, said that, if appointed as batting consultant, he would not interfere into the domains of the head coach or the team management.
