"I am committed for a few months but I am there to guide the players in the training camp and work with the youngsters in the National Cricket Academy. I will discuss taking this responsibility full time after the West Indies tour", Miandad said.
The former coach put his thoughts forward that the batting coach cannot change the technique or style of a batsman, once he is at the International level. He further explained that the major duty of a batting tutor is just to guide national players to adjust
their game according to the pitches, and to help them in planning an innings against different bowling attacks in various conditions.

Though, Miandad has refused to join the team because of his commitments, sources close to the former coach, disclosed that he was not feeling comfortable with the idea of working as a ‘support staff’ under the supervision of coach, Waqar Younis.

Miandad, meanwhile, appreciated national selectors for including youngsters in the squad for the upcoming tour of West Indies, as it is a perfect occasion to gauge their talent and to build the team for the next World Cup.
