The longest running summer transfer saga seems to end as the Basque midfielder is expected to be on the verge of signing for the Bavarian giants until the summer of 2017 on a five-year deal.

The deal was done a week ago but a few discrepancies stalled the transfer. Bilbao were being difficult in the negotiations as they did not want to sell their star player and problems with the transfer fee was another complication.

The cancelling of the contract will resolve all the tax and judicial complications and then the transfer can move forward. The 23-year-old will be transferring on a five-year deal until June 2017, and has even sacrificed €2m per
year from his own earnings to make the deal possible. This initiative from the star player has benefited the Bundesliga side and profited them with an amount of €10m.
