Javier Hernandez, the new Ronaldo or Rooney?
Manchester United’s new signing of Mexican striker Javier Hernandez could emerge as the next Wayne Rooney or Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 21-year-old has been brought in by Sir Alex Ferguson for £10million from Chivas de Guadalajara and it could be something similar to when he purchased Rooney from Everton in 2004 for £26million and Ronaldo from Sporting Lisbon in 2003 for £12million.
Ronaldo was only 18-years-old, and was unknown. Now, he is the most expensive player in world football and was world footballer of the year in 2008. Rooney was 18 as well when he made the switch to Old Trafford.
Rooney burst onto the scene at Everton, and on his debut for Man Utd scored a hat-trick in the Champions League. Now, like Ronaldo, he is a world-beater, and will carry England’s hopes in South Africa this summer for the World Cup.
Although Hernandez is 21, he might have the same impact that Rooney and Ronaldo had and become global stars.
