Javier Hernandez - Boyhood dream comes true for the Manchester United’s forward
The 22-year-old striker joined United from Guadalajara in Mexico this summer. Javier Hernandez was caught unaware when United approached him and couldn’t believe his ears. The player jumped to such an opportunity and signed up with the Manchester-based club. The feeling to play for such a big club has not fully sunk in with the Mexican, who admits that he is living his dream while playing at Old Trafford. The player had his first press conference in England, and the player was eager to answer all the questions. Hernandez was named the quickest player of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, since he possesses the ability to make timely runs on the pitch.
While talking to the press, Hernandez stated that being part of United is like a dream. The player had huge smile on his face while having his first-ever press conference. Hernandez claimed that currently he is living the dream he had when he was 10 and wished to play with players like Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes. Javier added that all of the players at United, from Cantona to Ronaldo were heroes for him and he was a huge fan of the club. Hernandez insisted that he wanted to be like his “heroes” and really liked how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer played.
Hernandez was quick to make his ambitions public, claiming that he wants to win things here. The Mexican player added that now that he is here, he wants to thoroughly enjoy the experience. Javier added that he wants to grow up here, both physically and as a player and was really delighted to be part of such a mega club.
Hernandez looked confident on the press conference table. The player looked stylish, having rolled his sleeves up and ready to answer all queries. This was the official unveiling of the player for United in front of the media. The Mexican football sensation made his much awaited Premier League debut at Old Trafford on Monday, where he came on as a 60th minute substitute, replacing Wayne Rooney upfront. The Mexican received a glorious reception from the United fans and was welcomed with cheers and applause. The 22-year-old stated that it was a wonderful feeling to play at Old Trafford on Monday for United in the Premier League. To put the experience in one word, the Mexican simply stated “unbelievable”. The striker added that when he was young, he really admired the English league and always dreamed of playing there once. The happiness that the player had could be easily reflected from his sated posture.
"I also want to open doors to players in Mexico and encourage renowned teams over here to take a look at the players from my country”, stated the 22-year-old striker. Hernandez added that he would like to thank his fans, both here and in Mexico for the love and support and promised them that he would work hard and do his level best for the club.
United scouting system is to be credited for Hernandez’s arrival at Old Trafford. The club snapped up the player for a reported 7-million pounds, right before the World Cup. The timing was perfect for the Red Devils, as the player had an impressive tournament at South Africa, which raised his overall profile. Hernandez scored two important goals against heavy weights Mexico and France, which led to immense appreciation for the youngster’s talent. Had the club waited to sign the player after the World Cup, several other European clubs would’ve already lined up to grab the fastest player around.
Hernandez scored in his debut in England, when United took on Chelsea for the Community Shield match. The player found himself right in front of goal and mistakenly kicked the ball in his own face. The young Mexican player couldn’t control the ball and ended up finding the back of the net using his face. However, this folly didn’t concern the Mexican, as he was more than happy to score in his debut match. The goal can be labelled as the winning goal, as Javier scored the second goal of United’s impressive 3-1 win against Chelsea at Wembley. The Mexican would be looking forward to making some more appearances for the club, as he has a knick to score goals. Back in Mexico, the player scored 21 goals in 28 appearances for his former club Chivas, and would be looking to keep his goal-scoring form on for Manchester United.
