The former West Ham star has stressed that he is having a great time in his current club and has every intention of staying with the Catalans for as long as possible.

The footballer has remarked that he wants to extend his current contract with La Blaugrana, insisting that he intends to remain put at the Catalan capital, but he cannot comment whether the Nou Camp outfit will be his last club.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 midfielder remarked that his arrival at the Azulgrana was a great decision and that he is very proud to have made it.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentina-c2841 international was signed by the Catalan giants in the summer of 2010 and he spent 3 years at the English Premier League side Liverpool before signing for Barca.
Initially the defensive midfielder had a bit of trouble finding a spot in the starting line-up. However, as he was given the duties of a centre back by Pep Guardiola, the player forged a place in the first-team.
Interestingly, Guardiola’s decision to play the Argentine in defence paid off and he performed rather brilliantly in the new position. Moreover, adjustmenting in the defence helped him become an important player in the Barca squad.
While talking to reporters, the former West Ham star was quoted saying:
"Coming to Barca was the best decision I have made in my life because I have accomplished so many things here. I hope that I will stay here for many years. If I sign a new contract, it will be until 2016, when I will be 32. My renewal is looking very good.”
"If I feel fine, I would like to play some more years. But I am not thinking if I would like to retire at this club."
A lot is being said about Mascherano’s future at the Camp Nou, however, according to popular belief, the footballer is most likely to expected to extend his contract with Barcelona.
