The young Argentine international has been much criticised since the beginning of the season but last night delivered a great performance during Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League win over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186
Although it was only a single game, for Argentine international Javier Pastore, the game was more meaningful considering his recent performances for Paris Saint-Germain. Ahead of the Champions League encounter against Portuguese giants FC Porto, onus was
on Carlo Ancelotti’s side to steer the side back to winning ways and a top finish in their group.
And, the final result was 2-1 to the home side who will now have to wait and see who they will be facing in the round of 16 of the competition.
Throughout the game against the reigning Portuguese champions, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Pastore-c18082 was in great form for the Parisians and showed the world what he can be capable of when on song. Since the first game of the campaign, Pastore has been mocked and criticised by
people for his inefficiency while going on the offensive and rightly so.
However, the game against Porto could turn out to be a decisive one for the 23-year-old. Four days ago, in his side’s 2-1 defeat at the hands of OGC Nice in Ligue 1, Pastore was not able to do anything in the midfield and nor was he able to be a helping
hand in defence for his side when he was introduced in the final stages of the game.
But against Porto, El Flaco was always there to help his side defensively and it appears that playing in Europe suits the gifted playmaker more. Even in the game against Dynamo Kiev back in September, Pastore was brilliant which further proves the fact that
the youngster finds it easy to play in Europe as compared to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899.
The same Argentine grinta was found in Pastore last night who moved with class and took the game to Porto and created a lot of openings for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jeremy-Menez-c18345.
Although it was a surprise to see Carlo Ancelotti start the game with Pastore ahead of Nene (who made an entry for the Argentine in the 88th minute), the youngster did not disappoint his Italian manager.
And, the former AC Milan manager was also pleased by Pastore’s exploits.
“It’s true that motivation is more important in the Champions League. Now, we must try to keep that same motivation in the league,” said the tactician.
