Since the season started, there has been much talk about the influence of summer signing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899.
However, not so long ago, it was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Pastore-c18082 whose performances were under constant media scrutiny. The young Argentine arrived at Parc des Princes from Palermo for 42 million euros and after making a great start to life at PSG, saw his performance level
go down a notch last season.
Now, the youngster has made a good start to the current campaign and much of the credit goes to manager Carlo Ancelotti for deploying a formation that suits the 23-year-old. While talking to reporters about the start to the season, the Argentine midfielder
says that he is feeling good at the moment and is hopeful of maintaining his form.
“Everyone can see that my performance has increased significantly since I’ve found myself closer to two strikers. I score, I provide assists. I feel much better when I’m positioned higher. Without being extraordinary, I think I have become important.”
And indeed, it was Javier Pastore who provided the assist to Kevin Gameiro’s first goal of the new season in the 2-0 win over Sochaux in last week’s Ligue 1 encounter.
In order to continue his personal growth, Pastore takes inspiration from the likes of Kaka and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Silva-c10601 and PSG bosses would be hopeful that the attacking midfielder takes his game to their level one day. Pastore still feels that he made the right choice
by choosing to join PSG and says that the club’s main target for this season is to lift the Ligue 1 Championelle.
“We have not yet spoken (about the title). But I think that the number one goal is to win the Championnat. In the Champions League, we will take things game by game, try to go past the group stage and then see if the draw for the knockout stages is in our
favour. We’ll see. But winning the Champions League cannot even be a real goal. We are new in this competition.”
Even though Pastore sees the bigger picture, the youngster has chosen to stay humble which is indeed mark of a truly great player.
