A few months back, Francois Hollande gave a proposal of increasing taxes for people earning more than 1 million Euros a year by 75 %. PSG star, Javier Pastore has now given his thoughts on the proposed law
The Hollande Tax, as it is infamously referred to in France, has attracted a lot of controversy in France especially in the footballing community. Hollande has proposed a bill which asks for imposing a 75% increase in tax for all those people in France who
earn more than 1 million Euros a year.
This proposal has got many people talking. And if many have voiced their displeasure at this, there are some who are willing to oblige.
Francois Hollande, the candidate for president from the Socialist Party has drawn much ire from the footballing circles. Although in polls, the leftist leader might have very little support from France football, there are some who understand what the presidential
candidate is trying to do.
Topping this list are former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sidney-Govou-c33474. The latter has already shown his willingness to be text at such a high rate. Govou certainly understands this situation especially after the former Lyon man spent a few
months at Greek side Pananthinaikos where he experienced how grave the Greek financial crisis was.
“If you do not pay taxes, how the state finance can be viable. I’m ready to pay 75& in taxes.”
Govou says that it is only fair for every http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Citizen-c38808 to have equal opportunities and finances.
Now, it is the turn of Javier Pastore to talk about his opinion. The youngster shares Govou’s opinion. Being the highest paid player in Ligue 1, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Pastore-c18082 said that he will be willing to pay taxes even though he is not in favour of the percentage.
“75% I think is madness. But if I pay, I will pay. It’s not money that makes me move from one club to another. When I started my professional career, in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentina-c2841, I hit a two-month salary in two years. But I was still happy. There is much poverty in the
world, there are people starving. There is a crisis not just in Europe but also in my country.”
Certainly, it is safe to say that not every footballer is totally worried about the infamous Hollande tax proposal.
