http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan’s skipper, Javier Zanetti, reserved praise for their rivals AC Milan, saying that the Rossoneri deserve to win the Scudetto. The defender also expressed his disappointment over his team’s lack of urgency this season as compared to last year,
when they won a historic treble.
He praised the effort that Milan have exhibited this season and reckoned that Milan are the worthy winners. Milan are just a point away from clinching the crown from their rivals, and even a draw in their upcoming encounter against AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 would be enough
for them to be crowned champions.
Commenting upon Inter’s season, Zanetti said that the Nerazzurri were simply bad this season and it had a lot to do with the injuries they suffered at the start of the campaign. He also showed his grief upon an early exit from UEFA Champions League, where
they were dumped out by Schalke 04 in the quarter-finals.
The 37-year-old, though, believed that there is no use to cry over spilt milk and applauded the efforts of AC Milan’s boss, Massimiliano Allegri, who has done a fine job on his debut season with the club. He simply stated that Milan have the right to be
called champions and wished them all the very best ahead of their tie against the Roman side.
"Its right for Milan to win the Scudetto. Inter's season was laboured and we had difficulty and various injuries at the start of the campaign.” Zanetti said.
The Argentinean urged his side not to relax and try to end the turbulent season on a high. With three games left to play, the veteran believed that victory in all those games could still be useful in terms of momentum and confidence.
The defender concluded, "We have regained the compactness of the group and now it's important to finish the season in the best of ways, perhaps by finishing second and winning the TIM Cup [Coppa Italia]."
Inter are eight points adrift of leaders AC Milan and will next be in action against Fiorentina on Sunday, May 08.
