The Inter Milan captain is of the opinion that there was a sense of injustice within the Nerazzurri camp after their defeat at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan slumped to another defeat as Andre Ayew’s stoppage time winner led Olympique Marseille to a 1-0 win in the first-leg of the last 16 round of UEFA Champions League recently.
The result against Marseille makes it six defeats in seven matches for the Beneamata, and they have not won a match since the end of January. Bit by bit, the pressure has started to build, and the possibility
of things changing at Inter Milan remains inevitable, if things continue on the same path. The Nerazzurri have failed to score in any of their recent defeats, raising increasing doubts over their transfer dealings over the winter and last summer.
Zanetti is feeling the pressure too and concedes that his team members “hope this negative period ends soon”.
Reflecting on Inter’s performance in the match, the skipper feels that things did not go as planned. However, the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Banfield-c38595 star believes that his side gave a good account of performances, but were
unlucky not to take anything out of the match.
The Inter Milan captain conceded,
“We are very bitter at this situation. I think we played with character, but at the end we conceded a goal. This is football. We just have to start again.”
Zanetti admitted that his team is going through a difficult phase, and even luck has stopped favouring the Nerazzurri. The 38-year-old insists that the boys fought hard but did not get their share of luck.
He remarked:
“Bad luck? There was a bit of everything involved. We did not deserve the defeat tonight, but it’s part of this negative period and we hope it ends soon.”
Inter Milan are due to play http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 in Serie A week 25 and will be hoping to topple the high-flying Partenopei side.
The Nerazzurri are positioned 7th in the league table, and their chances of qualification for the UEFA Champions League remain under dark clouds.
