Jaxtr to overseas?

Question

My Friend invited me to jaxtr and even told me a few things about for example her friend call her family overseas to Micronesia all the time now and I was windering if I can do the same thing. Calling my parents overseas are very expensive. I have a cellphone and I am so worried that if I join and call though jaxtr, jaxtr will charge all my long distant calls on my monthly bills. Please, help!!

Jaxtr doesn't charge anything.  Your cell phone carrier will treat it like any incoming call.  If it's daytime, it will come out of your pool of minutes just like any other call.  If you have free nights and weekends, then it will be free as well.  Jaxtr doesn't work with all countries and some countries may have limited minutes at which point when you exceed them it will just cut you off rather than charge you.

Like many new services, Jaxtr is in "beta" testing mode.

Most services in beta offer much of their services for "free" for limited usage for testing.... until they grow the customer base.   Once, the customer base reaches some sustainable level.... presto... no more free....

That is what Skype did...

That is what Jajah did...

Read the Jaxtr FAQ below very closely and be sure you understand what amounts to "fine print".

Not all calls will be free from your phone... especially with your Cell Phone....

Not all numbers you call will be "local numbers" from your cell... in which case....it depends on your cell service contract as to what is actually free and what is not...

Everyone is addicted to cell phones these days... and cells are far from being the cheapest way to make phone calls... even when VoIP assisted... you always have to go through your cell carrier first to get to where you want to go...
