Jay Bayron tops the leaderboard
The ICTSI Canlubang Golf Invitational witnessed Jay Bayron playing a near to perfect game with a 68 in his score card in the recent past.
According to reports, Bayron strived hard for grabbing the title of the second part along with the Order of Merit with the help of his bogey free play at the event. He held lead over several players that included Cassius Casas with two more golfers. Bayron carded a four under in the round and held a 1 shot lead over three players at the start of the Invitational.
The event held at the Cangolf’s north golf course situated in Laguna handed the players a good playing environment that had literally no wind to disrupt the flights. The 1 shot leader thus made full use of the conditions and was able to grab 4 birdies in his score card that comprised of three from the front nine.
The three birdies at the front nine at the 54 hole match had been able to present a promising start for Bayron who has stepped back into the fields after a long stretch from the Asian Tour that can be contracted to a few previous months.
The OOM race holds Juvic Pagunsan to stand at third place after he carded a 33 in the beginning. Pagunsan managed to card the earlier stated score in the beginning of the tournament as the late flight by the golfer managed to do less favor for him as he was hit by a back to back bogey from hole number 7.
The golfer thus gave Bayron a tough race to play before he carded the bogeys to drop to seventh place. The golfer thus stood with Marvin Dumandan and Cookie La’O after carding a 71 among which Dumandan is known as a three leg winner. Pagunsan was standing subsequent to the winner of the Aboitiz Invitational that was held in the month of August.
In order to win the title of the ICTSI-Philippine Golf Tour, the golfer only needs to grab one win at the last and final leg of the event endowed with P1-million.
Coming over to Casas, The leader was met with two more golfers Elmer Saban and Miguel Ochoa to play the role of challengers thus carding a similar score of 69s with a three under.
The runner up failed to reach the top of the leaderboard due to the 18th hole calamity where he earned a bogey. But ignore the mishap and one sees a 14th hole eagle, birdies at the 15th and the 17th hole and a bid after a 36 and 33.
