Jay Hieron demands another fight to prove mettle in UFC – UFC News
Jay Hieron has suffered three consecutive losses in the Ultimate Fighting Championship right from the start. He has not scored a victory since his debut match and his recent loss to Jake Ellenberger has further reduced his chances of staying in the UFC.
However, Hieron has not given up hope yet and he demands another UFC match to prove his mettle. According to Hieron, his performance against Ellenberger was up to the mark but the judges could not see it. He accuses the judges of not being able to judge
the fight fair.
“It was tough. I thought I won, but it was close,” said Hieron to MMAJunkie.com. “Do I feel I got robbed? No. But I thought I did enough to win. My only regret was I should've picked it up a little more in the third.”
According to Hieron, the fight was close and he would have accepted a defeat if it was a split decision. However, he believes, a unanimous decision to Ellenberger was unfair to him.
“The judges, I don't know what the h**l they're watching. Giving him a unanimous (decision) is a crock of doo-doo. It was way closer than that. I feel I did enough to win. I'd love to see the output of strikes, because I believe I doubled (or) tripled his.
He got the big takedown in the second and definitely won that round. His takedown, might have given him aggression points. But they definitely don't know what the h**l they're watching.”
Hieron currently stands with 23 wins and 6 losses in MMA, and 0 wins and 3 losses in the UFC. He made his debut back in 2005 but has not been able to score a victory yet.
Hieron believes he should wait for a while now before making a move. When asked about his plans, Hieron revealed he will wait for another offer or will talk to his manager regarding his future in the UFC. He asserts that even though he was not awarded a
win last week, he feels he can fight anyone in the division any day.
