  1. I'd say that its a fair trade, from the standpoint that it doesn't appear to be collusion.

Ryan Howard hit 26 points higher post break than before.  With .347 and 8 HR in July, there are signs that the same thing will happen again this year.  He's on pace for 50 HR and 140-150 RBI.

I don't think that Aubrey Huff can maintain that pace for 35 HR.  The .284 avg for him is about right though.

Hudson might get you six or seven more wins in the second half, but don't count on it with the Braves run support.  His strikeout numbers are nothing to brag about.  His ERA and WHIP will probably rise a little to the 3.40 and 1.25 mark (his career averages).

Jay Bruce is no guarantee to heat up over the second half.

Lyon has a 1:4 BB:K ratio.  He's on pace for nearly 40 saves.  His ERA and WHIP are pretty good.

If I'm getting Howard and Lyon, I take this trade.  If I'm giving Howard and Lyon, I decline it.

  2. h**l yeah ryan howard is the best hot hitter in baseball

  3. I would have said yes to that but Huff has been hot the last few weeks, but in the end Howard backed by other strong Phillies will make him more of an asset then Huff and a floundering Os team. So I say yes.
