Jazz Girl to take charge of the Today FM Handicap at Curragh
The Today FM Handicap has brought together a competitive line-up of fifteen four-year and above runners who will close in on the mile and two furlongs in order to get rewarded with the €9,315 prize money. Curragh will become the home for the event on Friday,
29th June.
The only entry who has posted a win on the profile recently is Jazz Girl. Johar’s four-year-old chestnut filly got to achieve this after three unsuccessful tries through the 2012 campaign.
She rolled into the new season on 28th March, 2012 at Leopardstown over a mile and two furlongs in the Spin 103.8 Handicap. The race was won by the favourite, Robin Hood, who led by three lengths, and had Rising Wind joining right behind.
Jazz Girl, however ended seventh on the track of nine.
Madame Boulangere foaled then finished fourth in the www.Dundalkstadium.Com Handicap on 18th April, 2012 at Dundalk over a mile and four furlongs.
Concluding the race first in the field of seven was the favourite, Northgate.
Her third try of the season resulted in the same outcome as she took up the fourth slot on 13th May, 2012 in the www.hairspray.ie Hair & Beauty Handicap at Leopardstown over a mile and four furlongs.
Once more the race was won by the favourite declared for it and this time it was, Sharalam.
Qualifying as the runner up was, Leah Claire.
The four-year-old finally went all out and won the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Handicap on 20th May, 2012 at Navan over a mile and two furlongs.
She did not win the race by a significant margin as she left the runner up of the race, Strandfield Lady, adrift by just half a length.
The Andrew Oliver trained in is for her fifth outing of the new season and will be paired up with C. D. Hayes, and the two will race from the first stall. She is backed by 8 to 1 odds and can be threatened by Silver Shuffle who has been competing in hurdles
since a while.
Another candidate with a potential to pose challenge, is Sailors Warn.
