Jazz from Washington, DC?

I have listened to Jazz 105.9 out of Washington, DC on the internet and found they are no longer on the air. Anyone know what happened?

History! About two weeks ago. Even New York lost its Smooth Jazz station.

In the last couple of months the US has lost most of its premiere Smooth Jazz stations as new owners switch formats and old owners try to raise revenue through new formats they feel will garner higher ratings. It's just that simple... and sad.

Smooth Jazz was/is a great format but never reached the ratings success in the key age groups that are necessary to justify devoting a big signal, in a big market to the format. Many have switched to a rhythmic adult format to attract women 25-54.

Most of the owners moved the format to HD and/or the web - if that's any consolation.
