Please inform me of any good jazz station(s) that you know of.

Specifically, jazz stations with an exploritve edge to them, and definitly not smooth jazz. Even just a radio show on a college station would be good. Any way I can hear some interesting jazz is good for me. THANKS.

It is necassary that it is available through internet stream.

PS-It doesn't have to even be jazz, as long as it creative and original.

  1. We have a jazz station in the New York City area....WBGO (88.3).  The offering is very eclectic in nature (ranging from jazz, fusion, classic soul) but for jazz purists in the area, they SWEAR to this station.

You can listen to the station online.  Being that the station is on a non-commercial frequency, they do pledge drives (no commercials) in order to keep the station alive.  The link is below.

  2. 88.5 in los angeles

  3. 91.9 wfpk louisville ky has a great jazz programs mid days, usually public radio has a better variety and more "modern" stuff, but most every city has at least one.  Im sure if you just googled jazz radio you'd come up w/ all kinds of stations you can listen to via streaming.  I prefer public radio because they play decent, un-overexposed music around the clock, from bluegrass, celtic, jazz, blues, etc
