Rennes are set to look for replacements in midfield as the Premier League giants Arsenal and Tottenham increase their interest in Yann M’Vila.
The wanted midfielder has been subjected to a recent 12 million bid from Tottenham Hotspurs, with Andre Villas-Boas having sent his scouts to France to watch the talented playmaker. Arsene Wenger has also been a long term admirer of the versatile midfielder
and the 22-year-old was heavily linked with the club earlier in the summer.
In this situation of looming uncertainty, whereby the club will be well on course to let the player off the hook, the Stade Rennais club have been looking to find possible replacements in their midfield ranks. A possible arrival at the club to fill the impending
void in the centre is Aston Villa player, Jean Makoun.
The central midfielder at Aston Villa is deemed by many as a perfect replacement for Yann M’Villa in terms of the similarity in their game play. If reports are to be believed, then the arrival of the 29-year-old to the French outfit is very certain.
Reportedly, the former Lyon man has already confirmed to FM that a return to France would not displease him, speculating that a move might possibly be well on the cards.
Tracked by the likes of Turkish outfit Galatasaray, the Cameron International has relished on the prospect of replacing Yann M’Villa as the club’s key central midfielder.
According to reports from France Football, the Reds and Blacks are in pole position to grab the signature of the talented player, and that a deal is soon going to be brokered between the two parties. However, the exact information about the deal is still
not specified.
With the arrival of the new manager at Villa Park, Paul Lambert, one of the few things the manager would be looking forward to will be to get rid of Makoun, deemed as an expensive mistake by Gerard Houllier.
The 6.2 million pound arrival from Lyon could not even settle during Houllier’s time in charge of the club, and struggled to ensure his place in starting eleven. Subsequently the player was loaned to Greek club Olympiacos for a season-long stint.
