The 54-year-old remains upbeat about Troyes’ chances of staying in the Ligue 1 this season and has vowed to silence the critics by performing well in the coming matches

ESTAC started the 2012/2013 Ligue 1 campaign on a bad note and are currently 19th in the league with just 6 points on the table after 10 games. However, things have been looking promising for the French club and the 2-1 win over cash-laden Ligue
2 outfit, AS Monaco, in Coupe de la Ligue is a clear indication that Troyes mean business.
And Jean-Marc Furlan is hoping to build on from their Coupe de la Ligue triumph and believes that Tuesday’s victory will turn out to be the kind of result Troyes needed to get their season on track.
While talking to reporters, the Frenchman stated that his side has what it takes to play at this level and they have more than a chance to stay in the Ligue 1 this season. The coach said that not many people consider them to be a genuine Ligue 1 club which
is a little disturbing.
"I get the feeling that a lot of people don't really consider us as a real Ligue 1 club,"
Talking about Coupe de la Ligue win over AS Monaco, Furlan said that it was a great win for Troyes and players are feeling a lot confident following after that and there is positive mentality in the camp.
"I think these reactions also come because in Monaco, we were up against a side with a lot more financial clout than us but we're not being paranoid at all.”
The 54-year-old added that positive results are always pleasing and he is happy with ESTAC’s progress through the next round of Coupe de la Ligue. However, the coach knows that Troyes need to perform well in the league as well to ensure their survival in
the top flight.
“We're savouring the result for sure.”
