Olympique Lyonnais president has alerted many sides by stating that the Rhone club is ready to part ways with several first-team players ahead of the 2012/2013 Ligue 1 campaign
Jean-Michel Aulas has opened the door for several players of his squad to leave the Ligue 1 outfit after declaring that the French club will consider selling their top players this summer.
However, the Frenchman is bullish about his side’s chances in the upcoming season and has stated that Les Gones are as ambitious as always and will compete for Ligue 1 title next season.
The Rhone giants failed to qualify for Champions League after only managing a fourth-place finish in Ligue 1 last season. Under Remi Garde, Lyon failed to impose their dominance in French football last season for which they are famous for.
Reports claim that the absence of Champions League football has forced many players to consider their future at Stade de Gerland. And several players are pushing for a move away from the club in order to play for a side that can offer them an opportunity
to play Champions League football.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has revealed that the club will consider offers for their big name players. Also, along with top earners at the club, Lyon will thoroughly study cases of several other players who under-performed last season.
"A certain number of players were not good enough last season and will leave or at least be placed on the transfer list," Aulas said.
